The Heart and History of the Manna House

Manna House exists solely for the purpose of helping men get free from their addictions through practical, clinical, and biblical recovery curriculum and by introducing them to a relationship with Jesus Christ. We do this through an intensive 12 month program that promotes camaraderie and fellowship, increases accountability, and trains men in practical living that will stay with them the rest of their lives.

The Manna House was founded in 1997 by Bob Mersmann and Dan Boden in response to their pastor who said, “Church is not in the building, it is out in the community, so get our in the community and have church.”

In response to that challenge, God gave Bob the vision to use his family property in Brookshire, Texas, to help others. That vision was to give men struggling with addictions a safe place to be fully recovered and restored to an abundant life of sobriety in Christ. Manna House is the result of that vision.

Since 1997, the Manna House has been operating in Brookshire, Texas, as a residential addiction recovery and rehablitation campus.  During this time over 800 men have lived in Manna House. Many miraculous transformations have taken place in the lives of the residents who commited fully to living this transformed life, affecting not only them but their families, friends, and communities.

Manna House has developed a unique and proven program that utilizes a program of Biblical principles and the 12 Steps of AA under the direction of a Licensed Counselor, in a safe, peaceful, residential setting.  Our open and caring staff understands the recovery process, many having experienced it first-hand, and are committed to help each resident and their family through this journey.
