Faith Like A Champion

Every Sunday night at the weekly House meeting, the men of Manna House vote for the resident who best modeled Christlike character over the past week. The winner earns a championship belt — worn to every class and event for the following week — along with a one-on-one meal with the staff member of his choice at any local restaurant he picks.

The belt and the meal are the fun part. The heart of it is in the vote itself. Each man stands before the group, names who he's voting for, and explains why. What started as a simple award has become a weekly rhythm of residents encouraging one another and speaking life over the men around them.
